Who is The Invisible Child?
ME! And probably you too…
Not the “Scapegoat” or the “Golden Child”, the “Invisible Child” finds themself managing and absorbing the stress, neglect and/or abuse from their family of origin so as to feel a sense of belonging. These children often become self-reliant "over-achievers" who repress their emotions to avoid burdening others and then give the impression they are “fine” - so they rarely appear in need of help. As adults, they often struggle with low self-worth, difficulty setting boundaries, and a tendency to repeat the pattern of being overlooked in relationships. This collection of songs represents my life-long journey to discover who I really am, grieve the “old me” and heal from the complex trauma… to finally “see” the Invisible Child.
